This time we will explore the ex-mining fresh water ponds of Bidor and Malim Nawar. Resident species often seen here are the Cotton Pygmy Goose, Lesser Treeduck, Little Grebe, White-Browed Crake, Black-winged Stilt, etc.

January is also a good time to observe the migratory species. Some of the migrants recorded are the Pheasant-tailed Jacana, Garganey, Northern Pintail, and Tufted Duck.

In the open country, you may get to see the Chestnut-headed Bee-eater, White-breasted Wood-swallow or some Sand Martin if lucky.
